Thanks, only other model that seemed to compare was the Leica in the 900ish range.

The Tract Toric is better, easily. Save you some $$$ too. They are both built in the same factory in Japan.

Thats been my primary reason for not going with those companies. Perhaps foolish, perhaps not.

No, you won't find anything better for that money. You will be hard pressed to find anything better for double that money. The eyecups are not a real robust design.

The Zeiss Conquest 10x42 HD is a very good binocular.

I have experience, and it has very good brightness, and
has a nice high quality build. That means it has nice
textured armor, smooth focuser and a sharp, bright view.

The Zeiss Conquest HD is one of the best mid-range binoculars available.

And you have Zeiss, supporting your purchase with a life-time warranty.

I have the Zeiss HD. Happy overall.

Sent them in to have the center focus dial tightened as they would change focal point when carried in a chest harness.

Took about 2 months. I called asking why it was taking so long. They told me the HD's are sent to Europe for repairs. This week, I received a new pair in the mail. Warranty replacement.

Service was a little slow but satisfied with a new pair
