Honestly, I just have never liked the caliber. It's not a caliber. It's a cartridge. Can I call it that if I put it in a "clip"

Should be getting this back any day now.
Anyone have any load data for using H4831SC and the 77 grain TMK?

What the hell does me being a clueless fhuqking CLUELESS Dumb Fhuqk have to do with much, I have all the calibers...and a whole [bleep] machine shop to go with!
If you have one shot and one shot only, get the 80g A max at 3650+ if you can. Problems abound, OAL to start.
22/250 AI with a 75 A max is 3450, not even that in a 21".
You can chase the lands with a 22/250 AI, 22-243 AI plan ahead...this is what Stick is referring to.
22-6 AI with the 80g A max at 3700 and never full length size...long actions only, 22/243 AI can of worms on short actions..plan ahead.
Stick, I am just a window licker, and enjoy your posts...I got thick skin...keep them coming.

I just got my hands on a 700 SS S/A with .308 bolt face. Heres what I am thinking.
22-250 AI Hart #1 in 1/8 21-22" McMillan Compact BDL bottom metal.
BUT, I want to shoot heavy bullets, since I need to buy bottom metal anyway, what is my best bet to not handicap OAL?
Thanks You'll be happy with an 8" twist....no need for a 7

'CJ,
If you just GOTTA go on the 700,opt ADL.
...I'm one of those screwy left handed people.... Right hand adl parts also fit lh 700 actions.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Anyone have any load data for using H4831SC and the 77 grain TMK? I have built and still own a few 22-250AI's, have found H4831sc to be a bit slow. my favorite combo is RL19 with Berger 80gr VLD's, my second choice is IMR4831 with same bullet. Will be interesting to see what you get for velocity with the shorty barrel

Look at a 22 Creedmoor. It is essentially the same cartridge as a 22-250 AI with far less case prep, no fire forming, etc.
Just a thought to muddy the water for ya. This is what I would do and a 7 twist so It could use the 88s.

Thanks How did it go... I will try and get a pic up. Ended up #2 contour and a McM from the classifieds. Finished at 21". Turned out heavier than I planned but now that it sports a SS 6x I wouldn't want it any lighter because that scope is no spring chicken and I'd bet it'd feel top heavy. 4831 and 77TMK's are amazing, just starting to mess with the TTSX's. Kills does, coyotes and groundhogs just fine!
