As long as it is cold, it is all good.
Some is just a little better than others.
OG I disagree with both statements. 1. Some beers are consumable only when extremely cold, but that's not because they've become good. They're just less heinous because taste buds are (thankfully in this instance) numbed by the chill. 2. I've had low rent beer like Natty, Coors light and PBR, and I've enjoyed the dunkel doppelbock at Kloster Andechs and also the blond doppelbock St. Jakobus at the Forschungsbrauerei, both fresh from the tap at their homes in Bavaria. The latter two are orders of magnitude beyond just a little better than the others mentioned. Actually, this sounds a lot like I envision Valhalla!

We can still get old recipe Schlitz here. Saw it just last week at local store!!!
Even bought wifey a six-pack a while back. Schlitz was her beer when We were dating! i had wondered if maybe it had turned into a regional thingy or not. haven't been any around here even in new-fangled aluminum cans in nearly forever. Strohs was another good one that's disappeared. and there's others i'm sure. Schlitz was the go-to favorite back in the day when there were rabbits needing to be kilt. and a few folks would drag out some sorry-arse Falstaff.

Another Pearl fan! I used to drink a lot of Abita Turbodog when I'd visit Natchitoches. I've tried to find some Pearl around here it's hard to find. You can get Lonestar though. Off course none of those are made in the original breweries I think Miller is contracted to make those beers.

The current Lones Star does Not (to me)taste like the old. But I think you are correct about Miller making them in Ft. Worth.

I'll drink the more upscale stuff, micro brews and the like on occasion, but my every day beer is Pabst Blue Ribbon. Has been for the last 45+ years.

yep. lotsa cool blue sold around here too. use to be a St. Pauli Girl that was very popular, then just faded away. had to do with the marketing and pricing i reckon.

My favorite IPA's to date.........both are very difficult to get unless you live within the brewer's home state: Heady Topper Pliny the Elder

American PA's for me. Full Nelson or Sweetwater 420.
If I'ma drink a traditional American just assume it be a PBR.

I've been searching for something like the Weiss Bier I had in Germany last November. Here's what I've found that are similar: Southern Tier Old Man Sam Adams Nitro Ale ShockTop - not sure which one I had right now.

You can get the genuine article at a well stocked store. Paulaner and Schneider are two fine examples available here.

IPA's - Lagunitas, Ranger, Hopscape, and Modus Hoperandi when I can get it.
Durango Ska Pinstripe.
If I feel like I'm getting too fat I switch to Coors Banquet, Hamms, Shiner.
