I don't think I have fixed perked coffee in the past 30 years. While out in my shed today, I found three old Pyrex Percolators. I had forgotten all about them. Brought one in, and will perk a pot in the morning.

Dang that's nice! Hard to find a decent percolator anymore.

Surprised to see some of those on Fleabay for semi-reasonable prices. Look a bit fraggal for my kitchen though...

Some years back, I was in a collecting mood. Bought a lot of old Pyrex stuff. These have been in the shed since 2005, and show no wear at all. The Pyrex Flame Ware stuff was pretty tough.

I have that exact one on the stove, all ready for the flame in the morning. Mine's a 9 cup. Makes an outstanding cup of coffee! Won't go back to drip after you start using it.

Well fire that pyrex up and give us a coffee report. But, better make a pan of cinnamon rolls first, a definite requirement for coffee pot testing.

Had a slice of that dang Peanut Butter Chocolate pie I made the other day, and that almost put me into a coma. Just the coffee tomorrow. lol

We use an old stainless one at the deer camp. Only place I perk coffee. After getting used to a Keurig at home, perking coffee seems to take soooooooo looooooong!

Grandma used to use one daily at the cabin, the Pyrex variety. It's the only thing in the cabin I was forbidden to touch!

Perk for five minutes after it starts and remove from the burner. According to my brother any longer ruins the coffee! I get this everytime we are camping, he insists it's the correct procedure!

had coffee from an old aluminum pot type thing, you poured the boiling water over the grounds and let it run thru...it may have been the hangover, or the coffee, but I remember that i liked it.

Perked coffee sucks, but it's better than no coffee.

course grind...Perk LESS than three minutes never letting it boil remove from heat... Yes. This works well. One can use less coffee and perk longer but that gives it a bitter taste. Use more coffee and perk for shorter times yields a rich deep taste. About three minutes seems right.

Have one of these in my camper. It sees a lot of use summer & fall. Even with a paper filter, it does require filtering the grounds through your teeth but it tastes fine.

My last percolator was an old corningware model retired a few years ago for the simple reason you can't fire and forget like drip machines.
