I'm looking at a 1991 mfg M70 FWT in 6.5X55. The gun looks like its in good shape and has a New Haven address on the barrel. It topped off with a Leopold Vari X I 3x9x40 which IMHO doesn't really add much to the value. Asking price is $999. I haven't owned a post 64 for a very, very long time. Do these rifles warrant this price? It's listed on GI, I did a search for the caliber and it's the first gun pictured.

I sold one at a gun show about a year ago for either $700.00 or $750.00. That was about what they were going for at the time. A thousand dollars seems pretty high to me, but they're hard to find.
