I traded for this MKII RSI 243. I treated all the exterior metal with Eezox, put three coats of Spar polyurethane in stock interior areas and on the butt, polished the trigger and sear, free floated the magazine box, and mounted a Burris Signature Safari 1.75x5 with matte Ruger low rings. I have a Wolff trigger spring on the way. I plan on using a Montana sling.

My buddy continues to rue the day he sold his 77 RSI in .308 (as well he should!).

Dave,
nice addition to your arsenal...
I always thought the two coolest rifles in modern day were the later Featherweights and the Ruger 77 RSIs....
I'd sure like to find one...in that nice of shape...
and that Burris Scope matches it perfectly, and is well balanced for hunting in West VA there...
Give my regards to Belinda!
best regards seafire

I have always liked the full length manlicher stocks. Nice rifle!

My buddy continues to rue the day he sold his 77 RSI in .308 (as well he should!). I have one of those. Awesome little rifle. It's like hunting with a rather loud Red Rider BB gun. Short, light and handy.

I have one in a tang safety .308 that was purchased from my Aunt after my Uncle's passing. I have fond memories of him sitting in his ladder stand hunting in PA with it. I clearly remember a "trophy" 3 point he shot with it on the first day of rifle season. I was super thankful when I had the opportunity to buy it. I bought it with a leupold vari-x II 1-4 on it but swapped it for a fixed 6x M8. It is plenty accurate with 150 grain interlocks and is the nicest carrying and handling rifle I own. For the hunting I currently do, it would be all that I would ever need (just don't let me wife know that)

Have a tan safety RSI in .243 also. Riding in a B&C stock to save the wood for now. Have a Timney trigger, which is a nice upgrade, and a VARI-X III 2.5-8x36. Handy rig; loud little phugger though. It has killed a bunch of pigs and popped this yote at 249yds.

I polished the sear and trigger, treated them with Brownells Action Magic, and installed a Wolff trigger spring. The trigger pull is about 4# now with a hint of initial creep. My hunting load for my other 243s is 41gr of H4350 and a 100gr Corelokt. I might find something that will shoot better in the RSI but the ability to pick up any of the 3 243s and use the same ammo is a plus for me.

Nice.
I'm a sucker for them, though I do wish they were a little lighter, but they sure are compact and easy to move around the brush with.

I have a good friend that has a tang safety RSI gun in 7mm/08. Very rare and I think it could be for sale.

My buddies dad had one in 243 years ago. I often wonder whatever happened to it. But I personally would love to have in 250

Mine is 6.5X55. Great little gun. First two shoots will give me 1 MOA. After that you need to let the barrel cool.
Enjoy everything.......expect nothing.
