Was at the local gun shop with the girlfriend and seen a rifle on the shelf that I always wanted. A stainless 44. Looked and the tang had the serial number and the barrel has the tell tale JM stamp. Turn the price tag over and seen $539. Sold! Gf is kinda mad, I'm sure the money was earmarked for something we don't need and that wont be worth anything in 5 years, but I just turned my ears off and bought the thing. It's a peach, even if I do get headaches over it. 😁😁

hawk, nice gun. Very hard one to pass up at that price, even with the lip service from GF.

Looks like Iowa passed a bill allowing for the use of straight walled center fire rifles! Looks like my 44 mag and 45-70 will be replacing my Ithaca Deerslayer. Yippy! Although, I will miss the Ithaca, she's kept my fridge filled for many a years!

Envious. Have a blued Guide Gun in 45-70. If I had a do over, I'd go stainless.

I paid $150 for a 44 mag in 1985. I think one of the problems is loss of purchasing power in the dollar. Wish I had bought a 357 also. Did pick up 2 Browning 92s but at a much higher price. Just had a Marlin conversion to 327 Federal. Can not wait to shoot it. Nothing I want is inexpensive.
