270 Weatherby magnum & 130 grain TTSX.
Anyone using this combination?
Alliant recommends RL 23, I have other slow burning powders on hand. Specifically like to try RL 26

I had good luck with the 130 TSX and 7828; if that's any help. Velocity was right at 3500 fps. The Accu-mark was being cantankerous, but it really liked that bullet. Later, after bedding it, it turned out to like everything so I settled on the 140 Accubond.

I've heard plenty about Re16 and Re26, using them myself...but damned little to nothing about Re23, and I AM curious about it.

Have some long cut 7828 might give it a whirl.
M70G, you have a powder charge you liked?

I use 7828SSC in every Weatherby caliber up to 300 with outstanding accuracy regardless of bullet. I don't even try anything else any more.

M70G, you have a powder charge you liked? Ended up at 73.5 for the TSX, and 73 grains for the 140 Accubond and NBT.

I've tried a handful of different powders. None have come close. I get top accuracy and velocity with 7828.

I'll try it head-to-head against the Reloder 23 and see how it stacks up.
Thanks gents.

No data but I would also look at R26. It's doing well in the 7RM giving slightly higher velocity than my previous R22 loads and similar or higher than my old dirty H870 loads.
If it wasn't doing so well I would switch the R22 for 23 for cleaner burning and better temperature stability.

Tejano, I have some Reloder 26 for my 150 loads, but Alliant didn't list any data for the 130 grain bullet.
They did with Reloder 23 that's why I picked up some up and am going to roll with that

I've heard plenty about Re16 and Re26, using them myself...but damned little to nothing about Re23, and I AM curious about it. Well, it's extremely accurate in this Mark V ultra-lightweight 270 Weatherby Magnum. We worked up to the book maximum with Reloder 23 of 67.7 grains running 1x Weatherby brass & the Federal 215 primer. Velocity averages 3270 fps, fired 2 groups of 3 shots into .490" & .540" @100 M 41

I know different cartridge, but close. I load RL23 in a 7mm Rem mag. 23 sends 140s a t 3,300 with the best of accuracy.
