We had one flying over the house yesterday. We see way too many ravens and crows here, and do not see many turkey vultures. They sure do have a head not even a mother could love.

Yes. Them and the condors. For sure were at the end of the line when God was passing out looks.

That Turkey Vulture and Bald Eagle are both incredible pics but that Barn Owl is one of the best bird pics I've ever seen!!
Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21. Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!

Barn owl was just a piece of luck. Late December and temps were going to 15-20 below with snow on the ground. Those conditions put them out hunting at mid-day when it warmed a bit. Normally they are tucked well back into the willows. One can spot them, but always with twigs etc in the way.

Nice pics. What lens were you using? 1minute also.

Grammar is important. Capitol letters are the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" & "helping your uncle jack off a horse".

Duckhunter;
Cookie uses two lenses almost exclusively. Most often for birds in flight it's a Canon 100-400 mm F5.6. A lot of framing flexibility with that zoom range. The other is a prime Canon 500 mm F4. That one, however, is a bit much to handle on rapidly moving targets.

Those are terrific pictures. I agree on the barn owl but I'm sort of an fan of owls anyway . While the bald eagle is great, I might have picked an owl for our national bird

Great composition on the photos, I'm a big fan of the raptors...but all of them are fantastic.
