Back in 2004, I gave my one daughter some money to "surprise" me with a 357 mag lever rifle for my birthday. She ended up getting me a Model 94 AE with a 20-inch barrel. The gun has good wood on it.
Problem is, I want to put a sling on it for deer hunting but, this gun is a collector's item now and my one cousin's husband who does gunsmithing says don't do anything to it. So, are there any leather/nylon slings I can buy that tie on the gun?
The second thing I may want to do is put a peep sight on it. Are there any makes that can be put on and not have any holes drilled in the gun. I already have a One Ragged Hole sight on it but I'd like to maybe get something closer to my eyes.
Any advice for me?

Williams, XS and Skinner make receiver sights to fit without drilling and tapping.
There are a few different no-drill sling systems for your carbine, such as the Brass stacker. Google is your friend.
