hey guys I've been running a mission ballistic for the last few years. The trouble is that I bought it at the last minute to have something to hunt with. As a result even with the cams maxed out in the draw length department I am coming up short. I like the bow but my buddy is always telling me that my 6'4" inch frame is too big for the bow. I do like how short the bow is and it's really fast for a 7 inch brace height bow with a short overall length.

I'm shopping for a new bow but I want a 31 inch draw length bow in a decent sized package and I really don't want a short brace height. Being smooth and quiet with an ibo at or above 330 would be great.

what bow should I get and what brace height would be best for me?

I got measured by two different shops today. One came up with 30.5 and the other came up with 30.8

No matter what bow you get, with that draw length you are going to enjoy a lot of speed. Did either shop recommend a bow???? Seems like they would be prefect for such a recommendation. Are you particular to any brands?? (some guys get hung up on that) Any bow brands your local shops dont carry that you can rule out from the get-go? Budget you are working with?

I think that i'm working in the 400750 dollar range for a bare bow. My local shops carry a varied supply of bows.

Would I do better with a 31 inch draw or a 30.5?

At that budget 400 to 700, what did the two shops you visited, have for bows in that price range and draw length?

The higher the brace height the easier it is to shoot the bow. Longer brace heights are more forgiving. The draw length depends on your needs. A lot of guys have a draw thats too long, it creates problems with the string hitting your arm and form. I would not go under a six inch brace height 7 is better .

The only dealer that recommended an in stock bow was the Mathews deAler. He recommended a halon 6 in a 6 inch brace height with an 85 percent let off.

Definitely depends on the particular bow, length of D loop etc. I like bows that are draw length adjustable in small increments on the cam as opposed to those that use a different module or cam for each draw length. That way you can fine tune the bow to fit you easily. The goal is an anchor that uses mainly bone support and minimal muscle use. Hopefully the archery shop you choose has someone knowledgeable to help you out with this.

Any pro shop worth a hoot will let you shoot a bow or bows to see what feels the best to you, if you are truley interested in buying.
I agree with the above, longer brace height is easier to shoot accurately. And your price range will take you to last years top end bows or maybe this years second tier. Both cases are just fine.
We can’t say whether a certain draw length is better or not for you, again, you need to shoot a bow to positively know that.
