Go with the covered wagon look. It'll probably be easier to set up. Just use PVC pipe and stick it a pocket or bigger pipe mounted to the side, and bend it over and do the same thing on the other side. The only concern I'd have, would be that it will hold up to the wind while driving. I think the trailer is high performance. Keep on keepin' on.

Before heading up state to the new lease I added one more thing to the trailer. I wanted a place for a jack, The lug wrench, tools, gloves, flashlight and other things for dealing with a worst case scenario (a flat at night) Because I already know a few of the people that will ultimately borrow this trailer, I want them (and me to be prepared for such a worst case. To that end, I fired up the welder.
I had a old Steel, Master Mechanic tool box that will work well for this so I cleaned up and painted it a "Dont walk into me" color and attached it to the trailer.
It does not stick out any further than the whee and fender.
