Get to watch the rut from the sidelines again this year. Still, after surgery for a ruptured bicep tendon in my left elbow in June, I feel blessed to even be able to still shoot a bow. Equipment is a 42 lb Wing Hawk recurve I paid $60 for this summer at Denton Hill trade blanket. Cedar shafts and old Bear greenies with bleeders. Nice job. I'm still fighting the tendon in my shooting hand getting torn. Keeps me from using a finger release and also holding the bow, so I cannot change to shooting left handed. You did really great.

That is just great! I have killed a bunch with a compound from a tree stand but only one from the ground with a recurve. It has to be 10 times harder that way.

Kudos on killing with the recurve! I learned a long time ago to not look a gift horse in the mouth. 7 yds quartering away was more than I could take. This is actually the 8th buck seen and I passed 2 others last week. They were actually chasing does around Saturday here and I grunted this one in from about 100 yds out so its coming.

WTG!
A friend of mine made a recurve bow, his first, and in the final bit of sanding reduced the draw weight way lower than he intended. Beautiful bow that ended up drawing 33 lbs. at his draw length. He was scheduled to go bow hunting for javalina and was hurrying the bow to use it, so took it hunting. At about 15 yards that 33 lb. bow sliced a broadhead clear though the chest of a large javalina boar.
