Years ago, I bought this rifle, 24", Octagon Barrel. It's been setting in the safe ever since, never fired, as New. Are these a thing with the CAS? Looking to sell, what should I ask? Gunbroker prices see high to me. Thanks, Jerry

yes quite popular with nearly all lever gun guys.....problem is now..

they are building new ones...RemLin's......not everyone's first choice of course

Save me the research...yours has checkered wood...?....SN begins with ___ first two

determines the mfg date.......the one shown here in pic...I bought from original owner..it was

24"..he chopped it to 20"...never shot it......I always wanted a 16" Marlin Trapper.......so I chopped it again

man its now one handy dandy 45 Colt....I polished all the internals & its a smooth as a baby's butt

Probably is my most fav Marlin Cowboy.....along with my other 45...357 & 44 mags...all others 20"

Pricing ? yep..all over the place.....have the OEM box ? thats a plus to some buyers...but not all....

very desirable Marlin rifle for sure......click link for Marlin mfg date codes.......post a pic.......

gotta be on a fence post.....wood pile.......saddle......price goes up even more ! grin

Thanks Tikkanut, Good read. It is checkered. I have the box, and serial # starts with 04. Maybe I'll list it in the classifieds. Not sure if there was any interest. Thanks again, Jerry

Yep this read gives me more reason to keep mine. I’ve had a few Marlins that I didn’t shoot much but I still regret selling them! Love the Marlins.
