H&R Topper, .410 in the early '60s. My first rifle was a M-16. Uncle Sam always took care of me.
I am..........disturbed.

Grandad bought my twin brother and myself each a Ithaca super single 66 in 410 brand spanking new in 1971. We were 7 years old. I took a lot of squirrels with mind. My brother never did take to hunting or guns, his is in my safe. I traded mine for a Spanish 20 sxs in the mid seventies plus I paid a little boot

Savage 24C 22/20 Gauge. My brother who was 12 years older than me recommended it. I hated it from the get go and sold it to a high school buddy by the time I was 15. I replaced it with a Winchester 1200 in 20 gauge and a Ruger 10/22. Still have the Ruger.

My first gun was a Remington 510P single shot received for my 12th birthday. This model has the Pointcrometer rear aperture sight. I still have the rifle, but it has seen the brunt of my first gun tinkering efforts. An upcoming project will be to restore it to usable condition by installing a new rear sight. Unfortunately the Pointcrometer sight has been lost.

I have two first..... First gun I got to hunt with was a break neck .410, probably a H&R, that dad bought. It was understood that I could hunt with it all I wanted, but it was his gun. He's still got it.
My first gun was a 12 ga. Westernfield pump, 30" full choke. Cost $60 used and got it for Christmas when I was 13. (Actually Dad gave it to me at the beginning of hunting season that year and told me it was my Christmas present. Fine with me.) Still got it.

Stevens single shot 410. I even killed my 1st Whitetail with it. That was 48 years ago. I still have it.
