I have been looking at the new Uberti catlog for 2006...they sure are pretty but how do they shoot? How is the quality? Trigger feels crisp and better than a Marlin. Also, it doesn't have that darn cross bolt. Comments and experiences

I just got a Cimmeron in 357, which is just a Uberti in a nice dress. LOVE the rifle. Only problem I have is with the issue sights. The post gets lost in the buckhorn for me. Going to change to a gold dot and flat rear sight, like on my Win 92. Believe that will solve the issue. TM
PS> When I bought the rifle, the gun shop gave me a box of shells to try it in their range. When I loaded 10 rounds, the last round would cant and not load. Had to straighten it with a small screwdriver to get it to load. Seems they were a hair too long. I shoot Masters in the red box and they are just a few thousands shorter. Have not had any issue with them after a couple hundred rounds. TM
Some mornings, it just does not feel worth it to chew through the straps!~

I have shot thousands of 45 Colt rounds out of an 1866 sporting rifle replica. No problems at all and accurate enough for short to medium range, never tried farther. I also have a '66 short rifle in 38, but haven't really put that many rounds through it. The 66 and 73 share all the same internals.
If you go to a local CAS match, you will likely get to handle and shoot just about any rifle there.

Way late on a reply but better late than never! I have the Uberti 73 "Special Sporting Rifle". 24" barrel, checkered stock and I love it. Very high quality in both fit and finish. Mine is 45 Colt and it is a tackdriver. I shoot mild loads (Miwall factory cowboy loads) and couldn't be happier. Case Coloring on mine is beautiful. Not inexpensive but, IMO worth every nickel and then some.

I have a (Uberti) Cimarron Arms SRC in 357. I have shot a bizillion rounds through it, and it has never missed a beat. Best handling carbine I own.
FWIW, I own several original Winchester 1873s and the quality of the Uberti gun is every bit as good - yes, maybe even better! Wow, I hate to say that!

I have the Uberti Iron Framed Henry in .44-40! Loaded with 777 it is perfect for anything you can hunt with a rifle under 150 pounds. But it's a mite heavy.
