Tell your MIL that she's YOUR daughter, you'll raise her to YOUR standards and ideals, that hunting is legal, that the game is utilized as food and she should mind her own damn business..

I have a mil that is also anti hunting but she is otherwise a very decent and good person.If there are other issues than just this maybe you do need to confront her.Don't worry so much what your mil is telling your daughter,what is more important is what you tell your daughter about why you hunt and why you see it as an ethical pursuit.But if the mil is getting too maliscious with her remarks regarding you I would have a talk with the wife and make her realize that she better step in and be the peacemaker before you blow your top and say something you might regret.As for your daughter hating you for hunting I just don't see that happening.Kids that come from a good home can easily see through the bulls&!t that your mil is feeding them.

I've been real lucky with mother-in-laws.
The two living ones were treasures, their daughters were less the hoped for, but the Moms were great.
