Maybe this would explain a few things on some issues I've been having. Yes, I'm using RCBS dies.

VG,
I know you, and I know you’ve been around long enough to know the difference between a “Rant” and someone spouting off reasons due to inexperience, lack of knowledge or inability to work with a specific item...I’m replying to you because you were the only member who saw my post for what it was and started your replied post to me with....GFY.

For the rest of the insecure pussies who fell apart that someone would dare say a product they use, like or love isn’t of the same quality produced by another manufacturer, shows you need a safe room and strokes to the back of your head from an adult..

I should have purchased participation trophy’s to make some of you feel better...I am sorry. I thought this was the Fire where a guy can have a bitch, or rant, whether legit or not, and those of experience, knowledge and without insecurities would say GFY, this is why I like RCBS.

Now, in fairness many of you did exactly that...You expressed either why you have enjoyed running RCBS compared to other brands, and some found their huckleberry using Redding, Lee, or a combination of several..

I could give 2 schits about whether or not you like A or B or maybe XYZ... Like, love whichever floats your boat. I could GAF!

But, in the future you little snowflakes who initiated the name calling when comprehensive reading was a requirement to understand the thread, some failed because you were so butthurt by me saying RCBS is inferior.

It takes Varmint Guy one of the older grizzled dudes on the Fire to see my Rant for simply what is was...A Rant,

Maybe that’s because VG isn’t afraid to Rant about things that piss him off from time to time, like liberals and snowflakes.

Enjoy your safe space to those that require one. 😎

Just thinking to myself that what you've pictured ain't the fault of RCBS, but that of the ape you bought second-hand dies from. Maybe due diligence prior to completion of the deal....... ??

I much prefer Redding, Forster and CH4D.........but I've got my fair share of RCBS that DON'T look like those and have served me well.

I've used RCBS, Redding, Lee, Hornady and Lyman over the last 50 years. The only die I ever had trouble with was a 7X57 Redding which had an out of tolerance neck. It was replaced quickly enough. I must say I like the Redding FL and body dies the best of that group the Hornady seaters, and Lee collect dies. I haven't bought a RCBS in the last decade though.

I'm glad we finally came to a consensus.

What was it again?

I realize this is the Rifle reloading forum, but Redding handgun, Ti and steel sizers, rate over 50% dogschit for me..they were manufacturing defects, every one of them. The expanders and seaters are fine.
Never have had a problem with their rifle dies, nor RCBS.

Some dies just "suck" because the seater stems aren't cohesive with every type of ogive; pretty easy fix, just like expanders/rods bend when a: they aren't aligned when you set them up, b: the ball or rod is loose, or c: you're decapping corroded or crimped in primers with a die you expect precision from.

Let's call it RCBS roulette - it's hit or miss. Concentricity gauge was a real eye opener for me. Can't stand the Redding "bulls prick" expanders.

Lee Collet, Redding body and Forster BR seater has never let me down as far as rolling straight ammo.

Lee’s Collet seems to be getting lots a love from several. What’s to like? I just got my Redding 7wsm dies today. So, I can finally stop bitching on this thread. I also ordered up a set of Lee dies in same just to see what they’re like. 😎

Update...The Lees dies are nice. They’ll be an excellent spare after the Redding’s land next week.

I've gotten rid of all my Redding dies and now run all RCBS. Don't get me wrong, both brands can produce good ammo (setting them up correctly is important) but I simply could not stand Redding's cheesy serrated aluminum locknut on the stem. I butchered a number of them with a Channelock pliers. I much prefer RCBS's hex locknut.

So you set all you dies up with Hornady lock nuts. Best locknut on the market.

I'm about as far as you can get from being a reloading expert and I can get every rifle I've ever owned to shoot 3/4" groups or less easily with RCBS dies. So easy a cave man could do it.
