Charcoal is for amateurs, real cookers use a BBQ put like this one I built a few years ago with mesquite wood.

My grandma made soap. Big ol trays of it heavy on the lye it was a bit lively us kids weren't allowed to use it so of course I used it any chance I got. Chit could strip tar off a roof ..

I wash my head with bar soap. Not enough hair to even call it hair.

I have flowing locks

Have to use a hard dry bar though

You use a wet soggy bar and bits of soap slough off into your scalp. Then people think you have nits and larvae. Or worse, that scaly chit that gingers have in their sideburns.

The sheer beauty of this line damn near brought a tear to my eye! Well done sir,well done!

Since the soap experts seem to have come out of the woodwork, what I want to know is this: say, you're bathing outside with the garden hose because you stink so bad your wife won't let you in the house, so you're out there trying to make yourself presentable and you drop the bar of soap and it happens to land in a fresh, squishy dog turd. How do you get the bar of soap clean enough to rub it vigorously and with enthusiasm in your armpits?

Well, the armpit hair and enough water would clean that soap right up.

But honestly, if that's your situation... go for the dawn dish soap and a scrubby brush.

Cuss around your grandmother. Should clean up the bar nicely.

I was thinking maybe taking a can of GoJo out there to clean the bar of soap would be the ticket but I suppose a bottle of Dawn and a stiff brush would get a guy by. Actually though, the armpit hair is the best way to go...I always have it with me anyway and I don't know why I never thought of it. You are a resourceful man indeed!

My mom overheard my younger brother tell our buddies “the bitch washed my mouth out with soap” .....he got the soap again, and a really red cheek.

I’m a soap welder from way back. No tellin’ how much money I’ve saved over the years by working that baby soap bar into a new one 😀

It helps if you put the new bar in the little depression that holds the soap for a few minutes and let the water splash off of you and soften it up a bit.....That really sticks ‘em together so the weld doesn’t break during your next shower. That’s a sure sign of an amateur 😀

P&G Soap was what my grandad used.

It was great for trot lines and limb lines in swifter water. The soap would stay on the hook and last a long time. Scent would bring 'em upstream.

We used it for jug fishing some too.



They quit making that in the late 60's or early 70's.

They said Ivory was the same, but my grandad said it wasn't, and fished with P&G until he ran out of it.

Barbeque grills and smokers need to be cleaned. At least brushed.

They brush the nicest when they are hot, before you put your food on.

Go down to your fleet farm store, your canadian tire, your TSC or whatever big manly store you have in your area that sells log chains binders bailing wire, work boots, hand tools, cattle prods salt blocks etc. Go there and buy something like this.




It's not sold as a grill brush but it's the best damn grill brush you can get. Long handle, scrape blade on the back, long heavy bristles.

Don't buy the short, super fine bristle "grill brushes" . Those are junk. You are responsible for the people that are eating your grilled creations. Those junk grill brushes shed tiny bristles that you might not see and your guests might not detect when eating. Every year people go to the ER with abdominal complications that turn out to be one of those tiny steel wires in their guts.

Use the big brush I'm showing. You have a way better chance of seeiing that big wire loose on your grill top. And if your guests cannot detect a 2" long .015" wire in their mouth before they swallow it, darwin is working, let him work.

Damn ND!!! I brush my grate (well I make the attempt ). It’s never anywhere near that clean. Basically I just knock off the big chunks.

Edit! I do give it a good visual for loose wire bristles after I brush.
