Clifton Arms African Scout Rifle

This is a Clifton Arms African Scout rifle in 416 Remington. The rifle was built in the late 1990s by Brent Clifton who was the son-in-law of professional hunter / writer Finn Aagaard. The rifle certainly reflects Finn's influence for simple, robust, highly reliable working rifles. Jeff Cooper also provided input on the design. It's built on a heavily modified Brno long magnum action. The 602's pop up integral peep sight was replaced with a heavy duty ghost ring that 'nests' in the top of the action. It has a 22 inch Shilen barrel that features integral scope mounts and front sight machined by Fred Wells. The rifle holds 5 rounds in the magazine. The removeable butt pad covers a trap for some additional rounds. It's an interesting rifle and certainly is quick on target. Chris
