Fella in the brown truck stopped by, delivered a box from Delta, CO. Inside was a dark [color:"purple"]purple McMillan and a newly rebarreled Rem 700ADL(lapped and trued) The #4 Lilja is an 11 twist chambered in 300WM, length is 25." The rebarrel and action work was first rate, it was done by Truman Wilson, a top notch 'smith recommended by Dan Lilja. A shot of the crown job: She will be a clone to my med [color:"purple"]purple 7RM except for optics, probably go with a Leupie 6X42 in the alloy Talleys. Still not sure. MtnHtr

I believe I prefer that swirl pattern,to the purple/black scheme. That smidge of white and deeper purple, sets the entire package off nicely.
No flies on the 300Winny and it is obvious that the chambering is surrounded by superb componetry.
Would love to hear a 165gr XLC/Re-22 report in the new Iron.............

Another drooler rifle, and a very nice pic of the crown. Thanks.
What is the stock pattern, is it avilable in LH, and what does she weigh?

Is there a specific name for that crown? I like that look.
Very nice rifle.

Stick, I agree wholeheartedly, she has a whole different tone to her. This pattern was ordered as follows: 50% dark purple, 25% lite grey, 25% black. I'm going to use one bullet for hunting purposes in this rifle, the new 168gr Tripleshok from Barnes. Second choice will be the 168XLCs, both over RL22 to start out with. I've got a couple more projects to finish before I can get to this one.
Talus, The stock is the Rem Sporter pattern, a good hunting stock for #4-5 barrel contours if you prefer your barrel free floating. It does come in LH too. The weight of this rifle without optics or mounts should be around 7.8 lbs in the ADL configuration. Which ain't a bad thing on a 300Winnie, #4 barrels are not lite but are they ever stiff. I will add a Davidson alloy shroud and still thinking on having the bolt fluted.
Westman, This is the best example of the recessed target crown with a 60deg chamfer I have seen. I always specify this type of crown recommended by Boots Obermeyer on all my hunting rifles. Everyone's version differs slightly but Truman wins this category hands down; no contest here.

My wife loved it. She said, "Down load that and put my face on it." <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> She already looks great, but that is a first rate hiney. Oh, and nice shooting iron you got there. Truman did my 7mm mag with the same crown. It is pretty enough to eat off of. I love the bullet seating tool he sends with his rebarrel jobs. Flinch

I think some one said something about "not lite but is it ever stiff" and someone else said " waahhhoooo" and something about a package being delivered about 9 months later that was purple...
oh heck, I don' t know,..
Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it probably is a duck.
