Just mailed a new one back yesterday...POI would shift with each round fired. Put it on three rifles with same issues. This was a set/forget scope too...Curious to hear what Leupold says....😎

wait here.... lemme go to the safe...
"300yd gong set to 300 yds, it hits 4" low up a few clicks to ~325yds, now its 8" low, up a few more clicks to 350yds, its close center.... clicking up moves it down" that's written the note hanging on the rifle
and another note showing a drawing of a low hit set to 200yds + 4cl and a centered hit set to 200yds +0cl
so clicking up moves the impact down.....
jeez, its dated over a year ago, I really need to get back to the range and do more testing... its just more fun to shoot guns that work than ones that don't.
I want to test it a few more times before I convince myself its not me.... or the No1 it lives on....
but hearing others are having problems.... yeah maybe I need to send mine back too...
Thanks
Poole

I have two targets hung on my target holder. Each target is made from 8 x 10 inch paper. Shoot at one target for a few shoots, trying to get a group at 100 yards. Next thing ya know, it's hitting the target to the right. About a 8-10 inch shift.
That's some crazy stuff.
Edit to note: This was a 2.5 - 8

It would put two shots in a group, then the next two shots are in a tight group, but they a 6 inches from the first two. Never touched adjustment turret. Same thing with two 3i 3.5x10 scopes. One cds. One not. Sent both back to leupold. Fixed and returned. Paper included erector spring repair.

Mine was a cds that wouldn’t track. They couldn’t get it right in 2 repair attempts. I’d still buy one but not with the cds. The others have held zero fine once sighted in

I had a vx3i 3-10x40 cds that sounded like a baby rattle when I shook it but the 300 win Nula also destroyed a 4.5-14x40 cds after a dozen shots.

Send it back. They will fix it. Over and over, if that's your thing.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I've got 4 VX-3i 3.5-10x40s. 3 of them, the one on my 300WBY, the one on my .243, and the one on my .280 all sighted in just fine, the one on my .30-06 was a pain, but finally settled in. I'll watch it and make sure it holds POI.
What the one on my 06 did was I shot a first shot, which was like 8" right. I made one adjustment like 60 clicks left. It was still about 3" right. Then another adjustment 30 clicks or so left, shot it, it was 2" left. Clicked it about 20 clicks right and it was about 2" right. Made about 10 clicks, right on the money. I shot 3 shots and it grouped about 3/4" so I left it alone.

That would inspire confidence Sounds like you are the stereotypical leupy lover, you really have no idea what your scope is doing, but think it is fine.

Interesting post. Did problems start with the 3i or has anyone had problems with earlier manufactured scopes?
I've used Leupolds for 40 yrs and have never had a problem, and the rifles get used fairly regularly between me, 2 sons, 1 daughterinlaw. So I checked my safe and found I have no 3i scopes in use, I do have one that had never been mounted. I've got: 2 - VariX both 3-9 compacts with no date code letter 2 - VXIII both 3.5-10x40 date codes 1990 and 1999 1 - VX3 4.5-14x40 date code 2014
So again my question----Is the problems only with the 3i models?
Thanks all! PS--I'm still a Leupold fan
