What is the difference between Federal gold match 215magnum primers and the the regular fed 215magnum primers?

Federal Magnum primers are just 215. Federal Magnum Match primers are 215M. The "M" stands for "Match". The match primers are supposedly made by the best of the best giving more consistency etc.

All primers are tested. When they get a batch that meets certain standards for consistency they are packaged as match primers.
I like to do my hunting BEFORE I pull the trigger!

I believe the M`s are run by the companys most experienced in the production, thus more uniform and consistent product. Consistency is the difference not flame temp or any physical difference.

To add to that -
The priming mixture starts out as a wet slurry. An employee spreads that slurry over a perforated plate with the primer cups sitting underneath each preparation, just like spreading jelly on a sandwich. The idea is to spread it as evenly as possible, so that each primer cup gets the same amount of priming compound.
It is more art than science. Those employees who exhibit a great degree of skill spreading the compound are assigned to make the match primers.
As the others have said, there is no difference in the priming compound itself, just the human skill in trying to get each primer as alike as possible.
