Any Weatherby Element owners out there?

Looking at the Waterfowl model in 20 gauge for an all around gun from doves to turkey hunting.

Satisfied, dissatisfied?

Good, bad points?

I have the 20ga/26" ATA Neo which is basically the same gun as ATA makes them for Weatherby. Only issue I had was while dove hunting I lost the charging handle and to fix I ordered an aftermarket larger one. I really like inertia guns for how light they are and easy the break down. I think you would be happy. If I had any gripes with mine it would be the shape of the recoil pad which means no easy replacement and I wish they had a high rib. I'm used to a high rib on my Benellis. I also wish they made a youth/compact model.

What brand charging handle did you go with?

No issues w a low rib for me, my main gun is a Browning Gold, low rib here.

It was a generic one off eBay that fit the Benelli M4. I had to get it turned down in a lathe to work. The waterfowl versions look kinda pricey. Have you looked at the Franchi Affinity?

I see ATA does now import a 24" version unless that's a listing error. Still none in stock though.

Oh wow, I was thinking they were in the $800 range. $600 isn't bad. I'm not sure what Weatherbys parts supply is like for them. I did call about buying a stock set from them to cut down and it was $180 for the set and you couldn't just buy the butt stock.

I did see a few reviews and one said he had an issue w a Weatherby, called them and they sent the parts to him. Decent support, at least in that case.

Was that stock set walnut?

I just bought the Element in 12 gauge, 26 inch barrel. I have yet to hunt with it but ringing it out on the pattern board and skeet range it looks like a good gun. Everything from 1 & 1/8 ounce to 2 ounce turkey loads feed and function fine. I intend to use for the Greater Canada geese next season.
