I'm getting better!! wink

The above is the same #1 .458 lott with a .416 Rigby from the first year of production. The Rigby actually has better wood that the pic shows.

Did a search in rifles on Gunbroker the other day. It came up with several hits on the #1, mostly from some guy in PA.

Having seen some video clips of this being shot in a #1 I'm curious as to what you buyer are gonna use this combo for? It's surely a bit too much for most any game in North America and not exactly a plinking round. Are that many of you heading to the Dark Continant?

Here in Australia I will be using mine on pigs, goats, Kangaroos and Water Buffalo. The 450/400 might be considered a bit large or heavy for a lot of game but I enjoy shooting heavy rifles and the game mostly stays down when hit right.

I have used a double in the 3 1/4" version in Africa.

I want the No 1 to take next time as I love the round and want the versatility of a scope. I am loathe to start drilling holes in a beautiful 100 yr old double.

By reproducing the original nitro for black express load you have a honey of a deer rifle (250 gr 41 mag Cast Perf FN, 40-45 gr H4198 for 1800-2000 fps).

Let us not forget the "Gun-Nut" issue. The need for a particular target doesn't come into play. I want one just because!!! Plus, it's just a really cool old round to have around. Not every Joe is going bring a 450/400 to the deer camp. That's a real conversation starter.

I'd like to take it to Africa but I'll use it for bears in the meantime. My purchase, however, is not based on 'need'. If I based everything on need , I'd own a .375, a .25-06, a shotgun and a .22 lr. smile

Yep, there is still two on there. A third from another guy but he has the factory pic. Should be a good match to my .458 Lott.

Thanks, I can't wait to get it and try it. It takes a while to get it imported to Canada.

I see another one sold on gunbroker. Looks like he has only one left. There is another one without a pic still there.

All gone now except the one posted without pics. I wonder how many Ruger had in the first batch?
