Does anyone know if Ruger are going to release any more 450/400's, or where I can get one?

Just FYI,

I ordered 3 boxes of the RN from Cabela's and with their $25 off on a $200 order it worked out to $76.65/box and no shipping charge. Not great, but ok...

They didn't have any FMJ available.

My 60 rounds of Hornady RN arrived today. Opened up one box to look 'em over. OAL was reasonably consistent at 3.690" +- .005".

Just waitn' on the #1 now.... whistle

My dealer said it'd be trick or treat, so I've got about a month to go... whistle ... He ordered two at the time.

I just bought one off the rack at a store here in Montana. It hadn't been there long. They also had ammo on hand, but ONLY FMJ's.

Which, I should have mentioned, is the same place JGray got his.
Mine weighs 7 lbs. 14 ounces on an old, but precise, balance scale.

I should also mention that I have successfuly used .41 Magnum dies to neck-size cartridges that use this approximate bullet diameter, including the .405 WCF. Am probably going to do that until my .450/.400 dies arrive. This tends to work pretty well since many of these rounds are pretty low-pressure.

I just dis a search of the usual places; gunbroker, gunsamerica, auctionarms and even hendershots. I can't find one! I'm glad I got mine when I did!

I am still looking, I am starting to think Ruger might discontinue the 450/400!

I'm in the same boat, waiting for my 9.3X74R. They will likely do another run of each soon?! smile

The wood would make a high quality fence-post. It is probably the plainest I have ever seen on a No. 1.

That's too bad. #1 is such a classy looking rifle, a nice piece of wood really finishes it off.

Mine should get here(takes time to import from the US) next week!!!

MD: Sounds like Capital Sports got another one in. When I first inquired about one, they told me they had two on order and I believe I got the first one. I know we both spend some time there--I've seen you and Eileen there on more than one occasion. Interesting you mentioning the .41 mag dies--I had the same thought about neck sizing and have had a loaner set sitting on my bench to try that. I just received my Hornady dies, so probably won't bother now. I'm still thinking the .41 mag neck expander may come in handy for belling case mouths for cast bullets.
