Playing around with going over to the Dark Side.

The recurve flings them nice and zippy straight, it's well tuned for split finger. I'm understandoing I should move the nock to shoot 3-under instead of split finger?

Should I move it at all? If sho, move it up or move down?

Shoot it and see. But if you’re getting the results you want now why change things up? It’s the same in all shooting bow, rifle, compound, traditional etc. consistent shooting form.

3 under gets the arrow closer to the eye so the arrow to target gap is lesser, easier to memorize if going subconscious.

Heavy enough arrow and or higher anchor, can actually use the arrow tip as a sight.

Higher anchor on face does feel funky if having shot a lower anchor for a long while. Changes how draw arm feels at anchor too.

Using the arrow as a sight is not as fast or reflexive but it works damn well.

shoot thru some paper before you move the nock. i'm sure google/youtube have lots of info on paper testing. if your arrows are flying straight, don't move a thing.

When I shoot split I use a Kantpinch KP 300 w spacer, calf hair face.

When I shoot 3 under I run a Blackwidow 3 under tab, calf hair.

Been shooting those since the 80s.

Started w a glove as a kid. Older tried a tab and never looked back.

Typically bows are tillered to shoot optimally one way or the other. A bow tillered for split finger usually will be tillered 1/8"-3/16" positive tiller (lower limb a bit stiffer than upper limb). Bows tillered for 3 under usually have even tiller (both limbs equal stiffness). This is due to the fact you aren't pulling on the string from the same place with each style of shooting and in a perfect world you want both limbs to bend equally through the draw cycle. With split finger, you are pulling on the string from a point below the midpoint of the string and for the limbs to bend equally, the lower limb has to be stiffer. I would let the bow tell me which way to shoot it depending on how it's tillered...

To add to the above, my thoughts are to move the nock point up so that you are pulling on the string from the same point as split finger. That may require you to raise your rest also - if you're currently shooting off the shelf, you may need to go to an elevated rest.

I have shot 3 under from bows tillered split, 58 to 62" and only had to raise my nock point a bit.

Dont have sausage fingers though.

Prefer split but can do 3 under.
And get bullet holes on paper tune.

But then i shoot tabs

Have a bud that shoots 3 under and his bows are a bit loud. His release aint very good.
Think 3 under just makes it worse

You will need to move your nocking point up. Just leave your other nocking point and put another above it (leave a gap for the nock and nock between the 2) - should be about right and will get you close enough to decide if you like it or not. A slightly high nocking point will reduce your gaps.

Just lately I have switched to three fingers under and find that my groups have improved.
