All this talk about which one for elk, deer etc has me curious. what about for javelina? they are tough littl SOB's! I shot one in Janurary with a muzzy 100 grain.. think it was a good shot, possibly a little forward. zipped through him like butter. good blood at first but it didnt last long. what have you guys had succes with? i am looking at three different options. A. G5 Montec. B. Wac' em triton XL C. Stay with the muzzy 3 blades.
what is your guys' experience?

Shoot them from the back to the front at a slight angle, and take the front shoulder out on exit.
Large cutting head is good.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

No broad head will make up for poor shot placement. You have to hit them where they live. In my experience, the Slick Tricks fly the best and leave the best blood trails, plus they are all steel and 4 blade. I have shot a pile of elk, deer and turkeys with them. They are tough to beat. Flinch
Flinch Outdoor Gear broadhead extractor. The best device for pulling your head out.

Shoot a bunch of javelina too eh? Placement is a big part of the key. Broadhead choice doesnt' much matter. They are about as tough bone wise as a big jackrabbit....but tenacity wise and soaking up blood with that hollow hair.... now there is another subject.....
Do like the slik triks though now that I have a few. One day I'll find something to put a hole through with em. Wont' use an expensive head on a mere javelina though..
Don't expect much of a blood trail from them. And I've shot more than a few in my life.....

Mr. FirstCousewas80,
I enjoy taking these little javelina in unit 32 with my AR 34. My choice is with Ultra Steel 100 w/ a 27 1/4 "Radial Weave 300. I took my in Jan @ 25 yards a pass completely through his ticker and he only went approx 10 yards before expiring. My son use his AR 34 with same arrows except its 29" with NAP Sptfire 100gr. Keep in mind that the most important thing is shot placement. Bye the way tell Enrique hi for me grew up in the same town.

Sancho, I shot one in Janurary as well, but he was not a recovery! left a bad taste in my mouth as that was my first shot on game with my bow! I think i may have hit a lil bit forward as i rushed the shot a little bit because i thought the pig was about to bolt. I was shooting 100 gr. muzzy 3 blde.
I will tell Enrique hello!

I have only killed 1- and it was with a 62-lb bow, 2315 arrow and a 2-blade old style Magnus. He never moved. Good eating and alot of fun. Mine was killed in the Superstitions in AZ.
Good Shooting!
