Hello !
it has been awhile since I posted here, But I could use you advise.
I have a 1899 Vintage 30/30SRC, The barrel is marked Nickle steel. Is It a bad Idea to shoot jacketed Bullets in this rifle ? And If so how bad ? Is it like never do it bad or more like Just a little is ok, but don't make a habit of it bad ? I do not want to wreck the bore !
Also, would gas checked cast bullets be ok ?

Nickel steel is fine for jacketed bullets, gas checked lead also OK. Probably want to give the bore a good cleaning when switching back and forth.
