This might sound a little quirky to some, as It's not meant to be.
In all seriousness, what do you guy's like to put inside your empty Caldwell shooting bags?
For Example, I think most of us are familiar with Sand, as in the old days.
Naturally, you want some weight, and form ability to them.

A buddy of mine states that the Sand works well for weight, and form fitting while shooting,
but he claims it holds an Oder, and can hold Mold.

I told him to wrap the sand in a plastic bag!
I also told him that He wasn't going to eat it so the mold won't kill him!

Any other tricks, or thoughts, and Ideas, or other Material?

I've heard of Navy beans, Uncooked Naturally!
Rice, seems like an option, but what about weight, are those choices stable enough?

What say You?

I've got bags with sand, ground walnut shell, rice, and plastic beads. They all work fine. Sand is the heaviest if that's what you need.
I wouldn't use rice if your in a damp climate.

Plastic Airsoft type beads - unless you need weight, then sand.

Walnut media works, but draws moisture much like the rice.

Yeah I agree!

Myself, I like a little weight to them,as it helps to secure them in place while I snuggle into position.

Thanks for the input!

made some for this season from shot bags and rice. Put the rice in a zip lock and have had no issues. Not as heavy as sand but works fine for intended purpose.

Some mornings, it just does not feel worth it to chew through the straps!~

I have bags filled with worn out corn cob media and rice, both work well. Just last week I sewed up 3 rear bags, different sizes, and used plastic pellets to fill them that I picked up at Walmart. I like those plastic pellets, They have some weight but not real heavy like sand, won't absorb water and easy to shape the bag. If my front bag with the rice gets wet I'll refill with plastic pellets.
