I sleep with Bob and Ray. Sometimes I wake up, hear something funny and laugh, and then go back to sleep. Drives my wife nuts.
Anyone that’s Apple-equipped should get the LibriVox app. Tons of OTR and books. MUCH easier than all that downloading etc I used to do.
What fresh Hell is this?

There are a couple pay to play sites on the internet that have a lot of the radio programing of the 30-40-50's. A lot of people who refurbish antique radios will, for a fee, install a Blue Tooth connection. Pretty neat if you're into antique tube radios

The Shadow. Yep "Who Knows What Evil Lurks in the Hearts of Men? The Shadow Knows" Amos and Andy Lone Ranger Red Ryder
Mostly on Saturday evening, we would gather around the radio and listen to them . At that ime, it wasone of those big stand up things that took tubes. Some stores had tube tester you could take the suspected bad tube inand test it. If bad, you could buy a tube there

Old radio is 95% of the reason I have it. You can also listen to these broadcasts for free on YouTube.

Radio shows were before my time but I really like listening to some of them now through streaming. Usually played just loud enough to hear for background noise while trying to go to sleep. Recently it’s been Johnny Dollar.

Nothing like listening to a baseball game on the radio. Summer evenings sitting outside on the patio catching a game.

When I had to drive alone late at night. The CBS Radio Theater, Adventures into the MCabe. Most stories were about dead people that did not know they were dead.
I'd still be awake an hour after going to bed.

Extremely vague memories of Inner Sanctum, Lone Ranger, and Fibber McGee and Molly. Those where the days when radios had tubes and took 5 minutes to warm up.
Can't bring it up, but saw some film somewhere on the production of the old radio programs. Some ingenious sound men around in those days.
On baseball I recall an interview with an old timer that did radio games. Their feeds came in on paper tape (teletype), and they'd sometimes lose connections. They'd do a series of foul balls until things came back online.
