While I agree "there's a bunch of crap going on" - it's not unique to this period of history. Disruption, war, conquest, instability is the natural state of things - IMO, when looking at world history in chunks larger than an average lifetime. Any prolonged periods of peace is the outlier.

Legit question - I thought there was supposed to be 10 days of darkness? When does that kick in - before or after or is it the mile marker to signify the storm to begin with? Why this/now as "the storm"?

My problem with believing a one-word government can form is that it would require a leader which in turn would require all the current leaders around the world to relinquish their power and I don't see anyone wanting to do that anytime soon.
