I've got a few good rifles scattered around. But I've never played around with semi auto rifles much. I'm interested in a defensive tool,...high capacity.

So I decided to poll the readership here and see what everybody thinks. The higher capacity the better, but most importantly, I want one that will go *BANG* every time I pull the trigger.

Thanks in advance for the responses. I'll be reading what everybody has to say.

Автомат Калашникова...

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

"No one needs a semi auto rifle. Many a man has got it done with a model 700 ADL. They're proven. I got one in 19 and 74 - run probably 2000 rounds down the tube a year. 48 years x 2000, damn near 180K rounds don't lie. No maintenance required."

I'd say the AK is arguably the most reliable. In the Chinese, Romanian or Russian flavor.

If I have my choice, it's not what I would choose, however.

AR 14. Bidumb says so.
