Probably easier to sell it and buy what you want. Trying to trade a specific rifle for another specific rifle is a long shot.

Looks like You don’t need CZ rings. That can be a good modification. Do you know what bases it’s tapped for? Thanks!

I may very well go that route eventually, but the rifles I’m looking for aren’t for sale very often either. I’m also open to being offered other potential trades. Winchester model 70’s, pre-64’s and stainless classics will get my attentions, Mauser rifles, nice scopes. I have pretty broad interests. The things I listed are the things I have first in mind right now.

If you decide to sell outright, I’m very interested. I am a big fan of the 9.3x62’s.

Up for everyone watching the playoffs this afternoon and thinking about how CZ should not have stopped making a Mauser based action.

So yes, both are an option This used to be my rifle. Yes, the hole spacing is for Remington 700 bases. I had work done by Dan Cowan of Renton, WA. My goal was to get a peep sight, which was possible at the time by using a base made by XS Sight Systems. It worked and the rifle shot well set up that way, but I would not do that modification again. I also had Dan glass-bed the action, cut the barrel to 22" and crown it, free-float the barrel, and install that front sight. It balances superbly with a 4x Leupold FX-II scope and is very fast in the hands. I later used it to kill several feral cattle and a small hog on the Big Island of Hawaii. It shoots very well with S&B factory ammo and with 286-grain Nosler Partitions and 270-grain Speer semi-spitzers over 4895. Okie John
If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

A nice rifle. How do remington 700 base work on it though? The front and back bases for 700s are two different heights and are rounded to to fit the top of the action.

I don't remember how Dan addressed that. Judging by the hole spacing, I'd say that he probably used two rear bases.

Haven’t seen a trade I am ready to make yet, so going to go ahead and list it $1200. Still open to new trade offers as well.
