Always thread the barrel. Every bolt gun I have has needed to be threaded. Suppressors are way more common these days

I purchased a 700 SPS Varmint recently. Metal work and finish are much better than the older 700s. I have also saw some new 870 Filedmasters, which replaced the express models. Very big improvements there as well. Excellent finish and nice walnut for the price. Also have what appears to me to be Decelerator pads with the Remington logo.
