I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with Hornady's 100 gr short jacket out of a 30-30. Has anybody used these bullets with H335 or IMR 4895? These are the only powders I have on hand.
I will be shooting them in a '94, and maybe in a 336, mainly for plinking and varmints at close range (extended front yard).
Thanks in advance.

Hi CS. I've got an article in the 17th (1997) edition of Handloader Digest. It addresses your question. The author, one R.H. Vandenburg, tried everything I've ever heard of. He got good results with that bullet, and the Speer Plinker, at around 2100-2200 fps. His load was 36 grs. of WW 748 with a CCI 250 primer. Hope this helps. E
