mainer in ak,
Nice tools, I could always use more of such for my collection, but sometimes less is more, sort of like in dentistry.
Would you want your dentist drilling your tooth with a quarter-inch-drive burr ?
Right now I just break out the chisels and bastard files for the big stuff.
Will ask Santa for some bigger ones next X-mas.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I've fixed a few by drillng a hole and pullling a piece of .095" weedeater line through with epoxy. I shouldn't have used green but otherwise made a very strong repair. I'm going to stock a 9.3x62 and I'm looking for a couple of real crossbolts. Can't find any square ones

So just got done fixing the same crack on a pr6470
Cross bolt and epoxied a piece of aluminum over the cracked area I dug down in the crack some for he epoxy to bond too
Regardless of he crack this should be done
As the all the wood removed from the mag and trigger area let’s it flex any thing 30-06 and larger will crack eventually
The old German way was to leave that big oval of wood down the side for strength.
Rem used a brass pin win did somthing similar
With an epoxy or plastic plug on post 64

Recknagel make a crossbolt with a square shank. It’s designed to be fitted right under the recoil lug for maximum strength. The ends are a little larger than most crossbolts to provide a larger surface area to hold the sides of the stock. It’s a nice option for new stocks on big bangers or stocks that have no crossbolts fitted. I bought a few a while back and they cost me the equivalent of US$30 each. You might be able to source them from NECG.
