I've taken three classes from the guy. He knows his stuff, and in 2017, he outshot everyone in my MAG40 class when he was nearly 70. I stood two feet behind him and loaded his magazines while he shot the demo. He has never claimed to be a fashion mogul, and for a serious guy he has a very keen sense of humor, which as Longbob noted can sometimes make it difficult to discern the satire. He notes that some describe him as "arrogant," but he has a self-deprecating sense of humor and in my experience he is super approachable. He is a polymath, and can articulately answer about any question you throw at him, of which I took full advantage during class breaks.
He's probably forgot more about handgun self defense and shooting than his detractors will ever know. I don't car for his style sometimes, but I can't take anything away from his experience and knowledge. He's also has testified in court and help beat a bunch of Leftists prosecutors in his time.
