Spent a lot of time on an 8n, the last one I owned went down the road two years ago. Good for pulling wagons on dry ground, not so much for anything else

John Deere 1936 Model B was the first tractor I was allowed to drive. Had to open the petcocks and give the flywheel a spin by hand. Had two fuel tanks. One for gasoline to start it on and then when it was running, you’d shut the petcocks and you could switch to the other tank which had tractor fuel. Ran too hot on gasoline. It had a cable loader on it which was used to move hay and silage around to the cattle. That thing was a nightmare for a kid 8-9 years old. Had to stand on the axel housing to get high enough to reach the lift lever and brace one foot on the back of the fuel tank to get enough leverage to lift the bucket…hated it! In the early ‘60’s Dad got a 1952 JD Model A with a Du-al hydraulic loader….Man! I loved that thing!

A 1983 Versatile 835.
Pulling a 24' grain drill or toolbar.
We still have the tractor, in fact had it running yesterday pushing snow.
That model Cummins is a champ and the tractors are pretty good as well. Sam; Good evening my cyber friend, I hope the day all went as well as the 835 firing up like it did. As we've chatted about before, I spent a whole pile of time on a 935 which has the V8 Cummins - which pulled great, but they had some overheating issues if one didn't watch them. I want to say my longest stretch in that thing - besides bathroom breaks - was 27 hours straight one fall. We were well acquainted anyways Sam... Best to you all during calving season. Dwayne

C Allis-Chalmers. The tractor was delivered to my dad and granddad on the first day of June 1950, and I was born 8 days later. It was the tractor I learned to drive on, and I used it to cultivate tobacco when I began to farm. It saw regular use until 1996, when a fire destroyed it and my other 2 tractors. I still have what remains of it.

I guess as a very small kid it was my grand dads John Deere B. Don't know why....maybe because I was 6?? Later on it became his wide front 4020 diesel with the heated cab.

Case 930 comfort king. Gramps had three of them. One had a blade on the front and it was my favorite for butting up rice levees.

John Deere 2020 when I was lucky enough to drive it. I used to visit my in laws during the summer when I was a kid. Wife and I met when we were 7 & 8. The JD was her dad’s pride and joy. I usually had to run an old Fordson Power Major with straight exhaust, one of the reasons I wear hearing aids, maybe.

Spent many hours on a John Deere LA used as a utility tractor. The big tractor was a John Deere A.

Torn between a CAT D6C 74a and International TD-9 dozer. Man, I'm jealous....I wish I had a D6 right now. All I could afford was a little Case 450C. Tony
Run it up, until you blow it up, then back it down a bit.

Sold my Allis Chalmers D15 backhoe after an overhaul 3 years ago. I grew up on D15, Massey Ferguson 35 & 135. As a matter of fact, I'm in the middle overhauling a Massey 135 diesel.
Later on Dad worked as the farm boss for a guy that sold Versatile tractors, combines & cotton pickers.
Dad put me on a new Versatile 1150. I was 12ys old turning over the soil and I was happy as can be because I was going to get my first paycheck(for a poor country boy) I ain't never had my own money before.) So I was excited!
