I've never needed to read about the Swift and have had over a dozen of 'em. Hint.

A good read about a hell of a hunter/trapper in this neck-of-the-woods. The author has passed so this book may go out of print.

Ha! I get bored and end up chasing my tail more times than not. You were right on the Montana 22 creed hint though….having a blast with one and waiting on another barrel to have Shaen spin up another.

I have way more capable rifles on hand than to use any 22 on big game.

Yes they can work well but it does not interest me. Why use the 22 XXX on elk when I have a 300 RUM 30-378 or 340 Bee.

1-12 twist 22 Creed for 40-50 grain bullets! Too bad I already have a 22-250 or it would be done.

Thinking of putting a 24" 7 twist barrel on my Swift and running the 77 grain LRX. Nice long neck, 5 in the mag. Have to seat them deeply or get a Wyatt's 3" box. Build it to 7 lbs with scope.

Or start with a different case and not worry about seating deep or the wyatts box.

I have a huge number of Swift cases, the dies, gunsmith has the reamer, and already run the Swift. I like the extra round in the mag. as well.

Often thought of turning down the rim and cutting a new extracter groove to bring the Swift case back to the 6mm Lee Navy specs and getting a new bolt with a smaller bolt-face. Just not sure if the primer pockets would loosen quicker as less metal around them. Feeding in a hunting rifle (as opposed to a varmint rifle where feeding isn't as critical) would then be superb, and might not have to lengthen the box because of the way you stack the Swift in the magazine with its semi-rim. Hosea Sabia in Alaska used the Wilson Arrow version of the Swift a lot as well as those that Ron Spomer mentioned.
