That summbitch looks like you might need to complete TPS reports prior to each shot.

I could endeavor to elucidate in regards to said rifle, but at this point, all things considered, that would be Totally Pointless Stuff!

G, that is a wild looking setup!

I'm thinking more of a standard looking bolt action rifle and now that I think about it the last AR-15 I bought might be threaded? It must be because I have an adapter to get the threads bred up.

Mathman, they didn't have regular old red can Old Milwaukee otherwise I'd have went that route, maybe....lol

10/4

Here are four different possibilities.

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

Top to Bottom

Kimber Hunter, 280 AI, barrel chopped to 17" and threaded. (Ya, I know, I don't usually play Kimber Roulette, but I got lucky, it's a shooter suppressed, and why an AI with a 17" Barrel? Cause the price was right!)

Bergara B-14 Ridge, 6.5 MannBunn @18", threaded

CZ 527, 6.5 Grendel, Set Trigger, 16", threaded

Ruger American, 300 AAC Blackout, 16", threaded.

I acquired these to use suppressed. Add 7" to a 16" to 18" barrel and it works for the type of stuff I do.

Any number of other possibilites. Chop barrel, thread, cerrakote, paint synthetic stock.

Best,

GWB

PS: IIRC, Ringman had new Steyr THB's for $1K with choice of 16", 18" or 20" barrels for $1K. The Steyr's I/ve shot have all been Sub-MOA @ 100 yds.

G, do you shoot any supersonic loads out of the BO? What kind of ballistics do you get?

Yes,

my go to load for the 300 B/O is.....

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

All my reading indicated that the Barnes 110 Tac-Tx was the go to bullet for super-sonic loads in the B/O.

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

6.5 Grendle left, 300 B/0 right

It can be loaded hotter, but I don't try to achieve max velocity in a cartridge such as this. It is my understanding that the Tac-tx will open up at sub 2K fps velocities.

[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

I've got lazy in my dotage and did not chrono the load. Velocity should be +/- 2,300 fps.

ya!

My load is almost identical…18.5 grs LG with the Barnes Tac TX (2250 fps)and 19.0 grs of IMR 4227 with Hornady 110 Vmax (2200 + fps)

G, thanks for the ideas!

I've got a few months to figure something out but am looking at factory threaded options.
