I have seen a Timney trigger fix for 760’s (& 870’s), but not comfortable doing it myself.
Any recommendations of gunsmiths who do this work would be appreciated.

I know you say you’re not comfortable but it is REALLY easy. Changing a spring and a sear. Almost takes longer to get the trigger group out of the rifle than it does to do the work.

I bought a Rem 750 in 35whelen It has a replacement trigger that has a set screw for over-travel. I saw them on ebay It was already installed when I bought the rifle used. The guy that provides these will do the install conversion if you send him the trigger group. Look on e bay and search Remington 7600

About 2 months ago I was looking on eBay & stumbled upon a guy in PA, who does this trigger fix. However, I am unable to find that eBay item any more, no matter how I search.

I’ve done the Mcarbo ones on my 870 and 742. Very easy, so don’t be scared.
