Looking to ID this rifle, VSSF 220 in a different stock or was this a factory option?

Decelerator pad, haven't pulled it from the stock to further ID.

26" Stainless Fluted Barrel

Serial No. S673191X

Thanks

My Internet Guess is that it now sits in a H-S Precision stock.

I think original stock could have been this :

Original VSSF were in an HS stock for years. Minus the vertical grip.

Is it really a Decelerator pad? I had an aftermarket HS with their factory Magnum pad. Was bad about recoil and pad was not one you could just unscrew.

The rifle is most likely a Rem 700VSF, some of which came out with a cheapish plastic SPS type stock. The stock the rifle is sitting in now is a Bell & Carlson model #1011 in #97 colour. The easiest way to find out if the stock is original or aftermarket is by working out the manufacture date via the barrel codes and then look at a catalogue from that year.
