35 Cal .357 250 gr. Sub-X

They market it for SubSonic .350 Legend loads, and will stabilize at those speeds w/ a 1:16 twist.

Anybody try to shoe-horn it into a .357 Mag. case for a carbine round?

Could probably be done. Some used to load 250-300 cast in 357 mag cases for subs in 357 max chambers. Subsonic is subsonic. wink

New to me, anyway.

Called HDY for the details.

Has a 900 fps expansion floor.

Thought it would make a good woods round from a carbine.

Was thinkin' 11-1200 fps, out of a carbine, if it could be done.

25-50 yds.

For the bigger stuff.

Was thinkin' hogs.

W/ an SD of 0.28, should penetrate like a wood tick unless it sets up really big.

Thinkin' the problems would be:

- Internal case taper, resulting in a bulge from the deeper seating.
- Gettin' enough H110 in the remaining space to produce the desired velocity.

Could also long load them in .38 SPL cases.

Using 158 gr. Federal JSP and 180 gr. HDY XTP/HP handloads currently.
