Fish that hit like this always catch me off guard. No visible follow indicating their presence, just a boatside eat at your feet when doing the figure 8. It always seems to happen after a long period of zero activity.

I usually do a lot of fishing on the bank for them. Can’t believe such a big fish would wait and hit on shore in inches of water sometimes it scares the crap out of me laugh

Makes sense if you think about it.

I love coming up on a shallow drift or a shelf out of deep water. Fish love sliding up on those to feed. If one is shallow, it's usually hungry.

But no matter how many times I see it, always gets the ticker goin.
