Not sure I would have painted it, but it doesn't bother me either. Nicely upholstered swivel seats and 2 spare tires and wheels. Trailer has bearing buddies as well. The Grumman 17'dbl end'er on the trailer behind it I scored last fall. Mb

Three buddies had those 15' Grumman Sport Canoes and really liked them for their stability. I thought that the seats were too low, but a lower center of gravity isn't a bad thing in a canoe. We even used that boat up on Lake Superior, but it was more at home in smaller water. We used a 5 hp Johnson on it mostly, but one day that engine wouldn't start, so the only alternative as far back in as we were was a 25 hp two stroke! That hull never did plane, but it was pretty exhilarating sitting in that front seat. My buddy always took the dog along to weight down that front end if he couldn't get a human for ballast. That front end rode pretty high without something up front. A 19 footer should be way better.
My other auto is a .45

I wouldn't have painted it either. Mill finish on a Grumman is like red on a Lund. But they did do a nice job and that trailer is amazing

Yeah Vern I'm home again , been up in Montana bpcr target shooting .Back to work on it . I laminated 2 pieces of 3/4 " marine grade plywood for a new transom plate, drilled it, stained it , and between coats of marine spar varnish. That's what the update is. The 6hp runs ok but have not acquired a water pump rebuild kit yet. Keep you posted .mb
