Remember when you questioned the quality of the steel on the new manufactured 17’s? Lol Nope. Remind me what I said. If you’re not going to admit it, then it’ll take a lot of digging. But it was there lol, I remember because I bought one of the new 17s and had a good laugh.

I'd love to see what I said that you took offense to.

Why limit yourself to a revolver? A model 52 is what you need. Trust me. I could have swapped my 1006 straight across for a nice 52 with 2 mags a while back before prices got crazy. The Fire talked me out of it. I’ve shot that 10mm once since then. I’ve shot literally thousands of 38 loads in that same time. I was being facetious, but I’d love to put my paws on a 52 They’re cool. At least cooler than 3lb 10mms.

This new progressive press has me thinking I might need some new 38 specials.
I have an old DA Colt.
I am cured of buying new Smith and Wessons....what were some good old ones?
Thinking for target practice and plinking for the family.
What would a good Target model be if we get really serious?
Thanks. Jim, I don't know about target revolvers in 38, but I went through something similar last year. After seeing various old revolvers appreciate in price over the years, I wanted to buy a K-frame for each of my kids before prices went through the roof. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbt...07/what-38-special-4-to-buy#Post17099607I ended up buying each kid an old 4" S&W 67. And they came with different styles of grips that we're going to experiment with. Have wax bullets too. Jason

Got an older M10, 4". Spent some time with some diamond hones and so 400 grit emery cloth. The old gal is slick as a button and a whole lot more accurate than I can hold it! 😉
Tried it as an EDC. Like toting a lead brick on your hip! LOL! Went with a S&W "M&P" in .40. Love it!

Security Six. Balancing quality with price. For a durable range gun. This also worked out as a good balance for me - and for .357 Mag when hunting certain things.

jim conrad: For your use/intentions I recommend a pre-lock Smith & Wesson Model 686 with 6" barrel. Good luck with whichever you choose. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Hard to beat a M15 Smith. I loved the issue M-15 and loathed the Beretta. Me too. Would like to find a really nice M15
