I finally found a pound of H4350 for my 257 Roberts. Is $70 insane? It’s batchit to me but it may be the best I’m going to do. Your thoughts?

H4350 was pretty easy to get around here a few weeks ago. Price is $50-58 a pound.
I got mine early spring from Powder Valley. I believe I paid around $54/pound for 6 cans including shipping and hazmat.

$70 per pound is spendy for sure. Around here average powder prices now between $47-55 from what I've seen. Plenty of options finally as well.

I’ve decided I’m not paying that price. I’ll experiment more with what I have. I’m glad to hear that supply is loosening up. I’m saving 4831 for my 25-06 and 4350 for my 30-06 go-to rifle. Thank you for your input.

Natchez has free hazmat, flat rate 5$ shipping , 10% off on some powders

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

I bought Retumbo last weekend for $50. That’s the first time I’ve seen it in a couple of years.

of-the several powders I have checked recently, at SW, and 3 Bears, all have been around $50. on line isnt really an option for small lots up here due to hazmat fees and restrictions

Most of the Ramshot powders are in the low $40 range here locally, with everything else $47-50+.

I'm a "po'boy" and a reloader! But these powder, primer and bullet prices have become unrealistic! I have enough trouble scraping together enough for a box of ammo, much less trying to find and purchase enough components to load my own! 😖

I walked passed a jug of both Varget and H4350 priced at $325. I did snag the H1000 at the same price.

H4350 is $46 here, both H & IMR 4350 are $310 for an 8 lb jug.
Ramshot powders are $28, Tac for whatever reason runs a couple dollars more.

After one of Hodgdon's more recent acquisitions I commented on their almost monopoly. And how it wasn't a good thing.
Of course that was immediately attacked. "Be glad it is owned by a pro-gun...., they will keep it going...." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Darn shame lottery numbers and stock choices aren't so obvious and easy to predict.

Is that at LGS or online? I'd say that's insane if that's an online price and you still have to pay hazmat, shipping and tax on top of that. I guess if that's at a LGS and you're only looking for a lb or 2 it still beats paying hazmat and shipping but I wouldn't pay it. Midsouth has been having 1lb and 8lb in stock almost daily

That’s the link to Hodgdon’s store. List prices appear to be about $55 for Varget, H4350 etc, somewhat less for others. So if your LGS wants $70, they’re either fookin’ you or they’re getting fooked by their jobber and passing the fookin’ on.
Was surprised to see so many choices available.
A couple of weeks ago I saw that my local grocery had plain old Campbells Tomato Soup for over $2 a can, so it ain’t only our hobby supplies that are out of sight.
What fresh Hell is this?

I don't know where you are in the state but I was in the S.Char. Cabelas today. Most powder was just below $40.00 per lb with H4350 being just below $50.00.

The Alliant Reloader prices are the worst if you can find it.
