1,000 miles is way past glute and bladder capacity!

You will love that. Not so much for the 8 hours of driving, but being able to tow for a long trip without stopping all the time, and just generally spending less time at gas stations.

I made the mistake of driving across Saudi in a one day push, a bit over 1000 miles. 15 1/2 hours, 5 stops for fuel, meals and bladder breaks. So help me 10 hours is the max I want to drive in a day. That said, having a larger fuel tank makes a lot of sense especially when driving through areas where fuel stations are few and far between. One reason for the 5 fuel stops for the above mentioned trip was sparse fuel stations and 250 mile range on the Prado.

The single 26? gallon tank on my superduty is an engineering failure, IMO.

The single 26? gallon tank on my superduty is an engineering failure, IMO. My '08 Dodge has a 35 gal tank. I really appreciate the extra miles when I'm away from civilization.

The single 26? gallon tank on my superduty is an engineering failure, IMO. Yep, it's the only thing left I don't like on my '11 that I haven't rectified. It's not a big deal running empty. That 26 Gal tank really blows-goats when towing though, especially if towing in the winter and running straight #1.

I believe that Dodge has come a long way with their trucks. I was slow to ever consider one, but I bought a Cummins in 2008 and really liked it. I then traded it in in 2012 when they were the last truck to not need DEF. I had it for 10 yeares and it was a better tuck than the 2008. The 2012 was also a 3500 and I felt that it drove and rode better than the 2008 2500. Last year i decided to get a new truck and opted for the 2022 Chevy 3500 with the Duramax engine and Allison transmision, as I think it is a superb combination and for 10,000 miles, I feel I made the right choice. The Dodges seemed to be less structurally tight, as the cab and doors would rattle or shake on a rough road, more than the Chevy. They seem to be more prone to front end loosening at less miles than GM. No flies on the Dodge, but I am glad I got the Chevy...
