I have been trying to purchase some felt sole hip boots for stream fishing. The three ply model I have had before and purchased them locally. Can't do it now. I tried calling Hogman, they have a lady that answers, and her English impossible for me to follow. So I am will to purchase anywhere, just need a spot. Thanks

Are you set on hip boots? How about some waders with boots? or even the waist hi pants? THey'll give you a ton of options on brands and boots to choose from, and I think they have much better ankle support than any hip boots I've ever tried.

I think Hodgman went to China.
If you like the old school waders a company out of Virginia has a line of waders that gets good reviews.
They are not cheap.

If you can do stockingfoot, these companies get the best reviews :
Simms
Dan Bailey
Redington

I paid the big price for Simms in 2000
I use them mostly in summer and they are still going.
They have outlived two pairs of boots and are on the 3rd pair.

Direct drive doesn’t hunt or fish. Why would anyone follow her advice?

I would highly recommend either a quality pair of stocking feet wading pants or Chota Hippies. With both you purchase whichever boots you want to wear separate.
